Settings → Localisation.
- Country and currency.
- Timezone — every date and time in Glovebox is shown in this. Get it right before you take bookings, or your pickup times will be out.
- Date format — day/month/year by default.
- Distance unit — kilometres or miles. Mileage allowances and charges follow it.
- Fuel economy unit.
- Tax mode — whether prices include tax. In New Zealand and Australia the law requires customers to be shown a price with GST already in it, so this is fixed at inclusive and there is nothing to change. Operators in countries that add tax at the till, such as the United States and Canada, can choose.
- Tax registration label — "GST Number" by default; change it to whatever your country calls it.
Why to do this early
These are the units everything else is expressed in. Changing the timezone after you have bookings does not move the bookings — it changes how existing times are displayed, which is confusing at best. Set it once, at the start.
If it did not work
- Times are out by hours. The timezone is wrong. Fix it, then check a booking you know the real time of.
- Prices look wrong. In New Zealand and Australia the rate you enter is the price your customer pays, GST included. If a rate looks too high, check whether you entered it without GST.
- There is no tax mode to choose. That is expected in New Zealand and Australia, where inclusive pricing is required.
